Are You Using Your Social Media?

If you run a small business and you’re trying to use social media to promote yourself, remember that you have some remarkable advantages over larger businesses in this regard. Larger businesses have to navigate the tricky waters of coming up with posts that get people engaged and maintaining their brand image. For smaller businesses, the fact that you probably do business in a physical community and there is a face that people associate with your business can be real advantages. You just have to make sure you’re using it right.

    Bad Stats

There were revealed some facts about social media that may apply to your business. For instance, a survey referenced in the article found that 58% of companies that were actively using Facebook didn’t feel like they were promoting it the way they should be. It is understood that most small businesses out there probably have a social media profile. Except for the time invested in making the profile, it is essentially free, at least from an upfront investment.

The same article, however, shows that 76% of small businesses surveyed about the matter found that they got positive results from using social media. A full 78% of the people who responded about their businesses said they got 25% to 100% of their customers via social media. That should reveal the power potential in this type of promotion, if you had any doubts.

How do you go about using it, however? Here are some creative ways that you can go about using social media to promote your business. Remember that they do require something of an investment, whether that is in terms of time or simply offering an incentive to customers who help you out.

There are various ways you can incentivize using social media. For example, if you happened to run a fitness center, you could offer a free beverage or some other incentive if people are willing to check in when they show up for a workout. This helps to get the word out about your facility, particularly to people who may be friends of some of your clients but who aren’t particularly interested in following your business. It gets your name out there and that’s important.

You can also offer an incentive for people to like your business. This is easy enough to do. If you have regular customers, clients or a membership driven business, ask them to like you on Facebook as a way of promoting the business. They are already your customers, so some sense of loyalty may apply here, particularly if you are a small business and the person they see behind the counter when they show up is the same person who owns the business.

If there are community events that you can sponsor or participate in, be sure to do so and publicize it on your social media profiles. You can do this without being overly opportunistic. For example, if you had employees participating in a charity run, it would be easy enough to put out a Twitter notice about it and actually promote the event rather than directly promoting your business. Remember that your business logo will appear on the tweet, so you get the promotion, anyway.

Make sure your domain is integrated with your social networking site.WordPress templates oftentimes have these types of features built right into them, so it’s usually just a matter of selecting a few check-boxes and settings and preferences. Once you have this done, you can further integrate your social media so that people who visit your webpage will see that they can learn more about your business on social media, where they may discover some very positive things.

When enabling image and rich media ads for this unit, display ads in the size of a 728×90 unit will be displayed initially. Over time, we expect that the inventory of image and rich media ads for the 970×90 will grow and you’ll see more full-size display ads being served.

    • Just Login to your Google Adsense Account And create a My Ads tab .

Blogger template HTML editor has been updated

Whether you’re a web developer who builds blog templates for a living, or a web-savvy blog owner who prefers to make changes to your template using HTML, CSS or JavaScript, you may be interested in some enhancements that blogger made to Blogger’s Template HTML Editor.

Your blog’s HTML template is the source code that controls the appearance of your blog. This template can be customized to appear however you’d like. The improved HTML template editor now supports line numbering, syntax highlighting, auto-indentation and code folding to make editing your template much easier.

Suppose we wanted to move the date of a blog post underneath the post title. To do this, follow these steps:

1.Click the “Template” tab on the Blogger dashboard, then the “Edit HTML” button, to see the new template HTML editor:

2.Locate the “Blog1” widget quickly using the new “Jump to widget” drop down:

3.This widget controls how your blog posts are displayed. The code inside the widget is folded by default. Clicking the new fold markers ‘►’ next to the line numbers expands the widget and reveals a set of “includable” tags:

4.Inside the “main” includable is the block of code that renders the post date:

5.Cut the post date code section and move it to where we want it, in this case, under the post title in the “post” includable:

6.To check our changes, click the new “Preview template” button to see the updates:

7.The post date is exactly where we want it, so tab back to “Edit template”, hit “Save template” and we’re done!

Finally, blogger has added a “Format template” button that automatically cleans up the indentation of

the template, and made it possible to search for text by pressing “Ctrl+F” once you’ve clicked into the

To find and replace text occurrences one by one, use “Ctrl+Shift+F” or to find and replace all

    Google PageRank Update Schedule 2013

The incoming links towards a website or blog determine its success in the SERPS and increases its trust in the eyes of Google.  Each website is ranked on the basis of quality incoming links and this Rank is known as PageRank. This is a very old algorithm and I don't think I need to explain it as you all would be familiar with it. I guess you all know the benefits of a higher Google Page Rank in Promotion of any website.

This is the reason behind webmasters always keeping one eye on Google PageRank update. Google doesn't do it on regular basis. Neither there is a fixed time for this. There is no one who can tell exactly when next Google PageRank update will take place. Google keeps few things hidden and you never get the idea behind why Google does this

As per expected, on November 2012 Google PageRank update took place. Keeping this in mind that, PageRank updates took place on May 2012 then August 2012 and then November 2012 so I have came to the conclusion that Google is rolling out these updates. So now according to my calculation, I have developed a list for PageRank Update schedule for 2013.

Google PageRank update schedule for 2013,

First PR Update January 31 - February 1st Week
Second PR Update June 28 - July 1st Week
Third PR Update September 28 - October 1st Week or Earlier
Fourth PR Update December 15 - January 1st Week or Later

These are just roughly calculated by me. The PageRank Updates might take place between these dates or earlier or later. We can’t say anything right now because Google never does things on time!

What To Do When You Are Bored With Blogging?

Blogging isn’t that much easy as it appears. A blogger, one day or other, actually start getting bored from it usually when he gets nothing for his hard work and precious content. Usually people leave blogging because they think that it is actually boring. Frankly speaking, I too have experienced these things a lot in blogging! In this post, I would tell you some quick tips to make your self refresh from blogging stress and continue with your usual blogging task.

    Why Do We Get Bored?

    • It’s a Job – Familiarity breeds contempt, or in our case, a lackluster form of writer’s block. Blogging is a job and like any job we’re prone to become disgusted, bored and jaded with it, no matter how excited we are about the subject matter.
    • It’s a Conversation with…Yourself – When you write about the same topic every day, not only will you run out of things to say, but you’ll stop wanting to say things. The more you talk about a certain topic, the less interesting it becomes to you.
    • It’s Repetitive – Because of SEO, best practices and other regulatory powers of the blogosphere and the internet, we’re usually limited to presenting that information in a handful of appropriate ways that don’t change much on a day to day basis. Maybe the next time Google rolls out a Panda or Penguin update we can arrange our bullet points differently, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Things To Do When You Are Bored From Blogging:

    1: Listen Music

Music is the best way to ease yourself and reduce stress. Music has a magic that you get immediately refreshed from 2 or 3 songs. So, it is better to get a mic and attach it with your computer. Listen music as you blog but don’t listen when you are writing posts as it may disturb your thoughts.

2: Go Out And Have Fun

Basically, when you are fed up with blogging, you are fed up with your PC. So, go out of your house and take a round or two. Buy and eat something and freshen your mind and let new ideas come in your mind. This would really help you to get back to business.

    3: Sleep

Sleeping is the best way to forget your tension and stress. Get a tight sleep of around 4-5 hours in day and then start your blogging again. I can bet that you would feel much much happy to blog after sleeping. This trick is really worth and I must say that you should also try this one.

    4: Chatting

Get on to facebook and look for your friends or professionals and start chating! Chating might ease your stress and also help you to give new ideas for your posts on your site. Sometimes you can ask normal people what they want as a visitor. This is a good practice.

    5: Dream

When you are bored, dream of your upcoming bright site future. Fans and fans everywhere and a billion visits a day. These good thoughts would fill you with enthusiasm and you would realize that you can do anything you want. This is called self-motivation.

    6: Play Games

Download some cool games and install them. Just time pass by playing games on your PC, PSP, XBox, iPad, or any other tech stuff. I am sure games would open your mind and your stress would be reduced by 100%. This is also a good method to follow.

    7: Watch Movies
